Short on time and money for holiday shopping? If so, checking coupons for online deals, which promise to be abundant — particularly on so-called Cyber Monday, the Monday after Black Friday — might do the trick for you. (Two sites to try are www. promotionalcodes.com and www.couponwinner.com.)

There’s more to be saved than time and money by shopping online.

According to a report by Carnegie Mellon University’s Green Design Institute, online shoppers also cut their carbon-dioxide emissions by 35 percent.

Other e-commerce positives?

No need to fight the crowds or line up in the cold at 1 a.m. to score the best deals. Or carry heavy loads from the store to the car to the post office to get holiday gifts to far-flung friends and family on time. Instead, after shopping around online for free shipping, just send the gift directly to the recipient.

On that note, happy - crowd-free - holidays!
